Officials are urging residents of Wingham, located in the North Coast region of Australia, to check their Keno tickets after it was revealed that a lucky player may be walking around unaware that they have won more than $1.2 million.

The winning ticket was purchased for the Keno Classic 10 Spot draw, held on Thursday, May 11, 2023, in draw 538. The winning individual secured a total prize of $1,266,536.70, but has yet to claim their winnings.

The ticket was purchased at the Wingham Memorial Services Club. The club is ecstatic about selling a million-dollar prize and eagerly awaits the winner’s appearance to claim the substantial total.

Keno spokesperson Anna Hobdell said she encouraged all players who purchased a Keno entry at Wingham Memorial Services Club to check their tickets promptly, as the fortunate winner may be unknowingly carrying the life-changing ticket in their back pocket or handbag.

“We’re urging all players who purchased a Keno entry at Wingham Memorial Services Club to check their tickets today – you could be holding a major Keno winning entry,’ she said.

In 2022 alone, Keno players across the eastern states of mainland Australia rejoiced over 76.25 million wins, collectively amounting to over $1 billion. Throughout that year, Keno awarded 21 millionaires and multi-millionaires who collectively received more than $51.5 million in prize money. Ten of these fortunate winners hailed from New South Wales and the ACT, including a Sydneysider who won a staggering $10.3 million.
