Chatswood RSL is looking to entice younger members and visitors with its new sports bar, opening at the end of this month.

The North Shore club is not new to reinvention, and this latest development will introduce a dynamic new entertainment offering.

Called Yogi’s Sports Bar, the classic American sports-themed bar is aiming to become the go-to destination for viewing live sporting events and more.

With a capacity for 300, it offers a mix of seating options from groups to private dining, including booths with personalised screens. One booking option includes ‘best seats in the house’, which secures a prime position in front of the 173-inch big screen.

It aims to broadcast a range of sports from both Australia and the US, including cricket, UFC, NFL, NBA, NRL and boxing.

Beyond the screens, Yogi’s also offers a separate ‘Games Zone’ boasting a range of games including electronic darts and foosball.

A feature athletic track leads visitors from space to space, which are decorated with vibrant murals and neon signage.

Headed by venue manager Tony Rudolph (ex-Canterbury Leagues Club), the bar offers classic and craft beers while the menu offers American-style bites as well as wood-fired pizzas.

Designer Natalie Dufton, of Pony Design Co, said the interior details incorporated materials like grandstand seating and cage wire, inspired by sporting venues.

The concept and strategy were created by Tully Heard Consulting, who are behind other ventures such as The Oaks at Neutral Bay’s ‘Taffy’s’, and Ready’s, in Doyalson.

“Yogi’s Sports Bar is set to bring an energetic and exciting atmosphere to the North Shore hospitality scene,” said director John Tully.

“Tapping into the global trend of younger markets seeking more experience-based outings, Yogi’s offers the perfect blend of great food, drinks, and immersive sports entertainment – creating a vibrant destination where fans can fully engage in the excitement of live sports.”

This development follows the recent sale of nearby Chatswood Hotel, signalling continued interest in the area’s growing appeal.
