Liquor Control Victoria has released a club checklist to assist clubs in understanding both their legal responsibilities and how to implement better practices.
The checklist includes administrative requirements such as licensing and mandatory signage; licence conditions such as trading hours and patron numbers; liquor laws around issues such as minors and intoxication; and information around good practice.
In recognition of the steep learning curve required of new licensees, the Victorian Government is also offering a free online information session: 10-11am Tuesday, 6 May 2025.
The information session will cover liquor licence conditions, laws regarding minors, required training, guidelines for responsible advertising and promotion, managing intoxication, and more.
The speakers from the Department of Justice and Community Safety each have over two decades’ experience in liquor compliance and regulation.
Any Victorian club staff member is welcome to attend.
While the checklist is available to clubs in all states, please note laws and conditions may vary between states. Download HERE.
Registration for the Victorian clubs free online information session is available HERE.
