Clubs play a vital role in strengthening the fabric of their communities, and a focus on schools is important in fostering stronger connections between schools and the broader community.
Club involvement reinforces the idea that education is a shared responsibility and a foundation for future success.
To that end, Sydney’s Revesby Workers’ Club has worked tirelessly for decades through its school subsidy program.
Now in its 39th year, it is guided by the club’s Education Committee, and this year has invested a total of $84,000.
The bulk of this is through the club’s Tertiary Scholarship Program, which has awarded $54,000 to support students in achieving their education goals.

Jaydan Younan is one of the two $5,000 scholarship recipients, currently studying law and economics at the University of Sydney.
“Education is the world’s greatest equaliser,” he said.
“When I graduate, I will be the second person in my family to have received a degree. This makes it all the more special that my studies will be supported by the Revesby Workers’ Club.
“Receiving this scholarship will not only help cover essential expenses but also provide the motivation and support I need to fully dedicate myself to my studies and pursue postgraduate coursework in the near future.
“I am incredibly grateful for the Revesby Workers’ Club’s commitment to supporting local students. This initiative not only eases financial barriers but also recognises the transformative power of tertiary education for local communities.”
The club has also supported East Hills Girls Technology High School to the tune of $10,000 for its newly developed Careers Centre, where students are provided opportunities and assistance to explore future career pathways.
Revesby Workers’ Club has continued to support Padstow Park Public School in developing its outdoor play space project, a multi-phase project aiming to create a hands-on learning garden environment.
Through these initiatives, Revesby Workers’ Club continues to demonstrate the profound impact that community-driven support can have on shaping brighter futures for young people.
