Last week Victoria again celebrated its community clubs, at the 2025 Community Clubs Victoria (CCV) Gala Dinner and Awards Night.

The annual celebration was held at the RACV City Club, Melbourne, with over 300 industry representatives present to recognise achievements in social impact, sustainability and entertainment across more than one thousand Victorian community clubs.

Andrew Lloyd, CCV chief executive, spoke of the importance of celebrating the achievements of clubs and individuals, especially during times of operational challenges such as those many clubs currently face.

Lloyd acknowledged the privilege of honouring the people who work to strengthen their communities.

Stoney’s Club, part of Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG), won the Best Community Club Refurbishment Award for the creation of The Stone Garden.

PLG, which operates 15 venues across Victoria, including the Caulfield Glasshouse and Golden Fleece in Melton, said The Stone Garden’s extensive refurbishment was designed to reflect Stoney Club members’ values of connection, comfort and accessibility.

“The refurbishment was much more than a facelift,” PLG told ClubTIC.

“What truly set Stoney’s apart was a focus on creating a space that brings the community together.”

Winner of Best Redevelopment Award, Sandringham Yacht Club, says its members love the redevelopment of the club’s space, which overlooks Melbourne’s Sandringham Harbour, while Metro Community Club of the Year, DOXA Community Club, says the award acknowledges the values and hard work of its team.

CCV is an industry association representing over one thousand Victorian community clubs.

These clubs employ over 30,000 staff, serving around 2.3 million members, together contributing $1 billion to Victoria’s economy through their volunteer work, community donations and subsidised access to facilities.
