The expansive Healesville Country Club and Resort has announced the coming addition of more new facilities to attract visitors, through a $27 million development.
The exclusive Yarra Valley country club, owned and operated by the RACV, opened as Healesville Golf House in 1952.
Across more than seven decades the 18-hole golf course has evolved to meet its market, providing a tennis court and fitness centre, as well as restaurants, a pool and a luxury day spa. In 2022 it added an alfresco space and sports bar, and refurbished the member’s pavilion.
Set to begin construction mid-2026, the latest initiative will expand its accommodation options with 12 new two-bedroom villas, slated to be taking guests in 2027.
Also coming are new sports and recreation facilities, including a golf pro shop, the City Club Shared Workspace & Members Retreat, and lounge space exclusively for RACV Club Members – the Members Retreat.
“Whether you’re perfecting your swing, relaxing with friends, or enjoying a weekend away, these additions are designed to make your time at Healesville even more rewarding,” offers RACV general manager Craig Peachey.
The club sees this as a great opportunity to grow the accommodation options available in the area, anticipating an additional 16,700 guests each year, set to inject $3.8 million into the local economy.
The build is expected to employ over 250 people, and the new operations will create around 26 ongoing positions.
Peachey explains that their accommodation is often fully booked, likely forcing potential visitors to the region to look elsewhere, and they will now be better able to contribute to the Yarra Valley’s reputation as a premium tourism destination.
“This expansion plan will enable us to accommodate even more members and guests at our Healesville property in the future.
“This is an investment into the Yarra Valley region that will help to drive tourism growth,” he says.
