Recognising the need to amplify their social influence, ClubsNSW has appointed Arely Carrion to the newly created role of Head of Social Impact.
Carrion has extensive experience in both the clubs industry and in community engagement.
For over five and a half years Carrion held the role of Executive Manager Community with the Mounties Group, following roles in operational management at a variety of clubs.

She concurrently served as non-executive director for both Bayside Women’s Shelter and Bonnie Support Services and worked with Insight Exchange as a Domestic Violence Service Management Associate.
Carrion led Mounties Group’s Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence (DFSV) Action Plan from 2023, demonstrating that workplaces have a role in identifying and responding to DFSV.
Following this, Carrion assisted in rolling out similar programs across NSW clubs with the support of the Mounties Group, ClubsNSW and other industry leaders.
Rebecca Riant, ClubsNSW CEO is thrilled to have Carrion in the new role, acknowledging the solid foundations Dale Hunt and his team at Mounties Group have established.
“Arely will be able to use her wealth of experience in the industry to lead the social impact strategy at ClubsNSW – which will include more crucial work in the domestic violence space and looking at how clubs can continue to provide for the growing number of people experiencing homelessness across the state, supporting youth in regional areas, as well as our veteran community – and that’s just the beginning!” Riant said.
Hunt said that while the Mounties Group is extremely sorry to see her go, the group is thrilled for her and are looking forward to seeing the impact she will make.
“Arely possesses such talent, drive and ambition – she has been an incredible asset to the Mounties Group and the local community as a result,” Hunt said.
Having experienced domestic violence herself, Carrion has a strong vision of ensuring safer communities for everyone and will hit the ground running in this new position.
Carrion expressed her gratitude to all at Mounties Group along with Don Hammond, CEO of Leagues Clubs Australia, for their support and assistance.
“Registered clubs play such a pivotal role in their communities, and while they are already doing so much to support those in need, there is always more to be done and I can’t wait to get started,” Carrion said.
The new role begins next Tuesday, 1 April 2025.
