Continuing our series on venues capitalising on the excitement of the 2024 Olympics in Paris, Max Hitchins talks promo prizes.
In last week’s issue of ClubTIC I said this week I would share some innovative ideas and ways to find partners providing prizes for your upcoming Olympic promotions.
The key is to ‘keep it local’ and think about what you can offer your potential Olympic partners.
I suggest trying to lock in a major ‘travel’ prize; talk to your local travel agents. One or more of your local travel agents are possibly members or visitors to your club.
Ask them if they can arrange for an international trip for two people, as your Marquee prize. Ask also for a domestic trip for two people, either interstate or intrastate.
Next, approach 5-star hotels or resorts that are nearby or in your nearest capital city. Ask them for several weekday or weekend packages for two people.
Approach your local movie theatres for multiple free tickets to upcoming movies.
And you could go through your database looking for local businesses, such as butchers, bakers, car dealers, hardware stores, etc. You may find they would be delightfully surprised at an invitation to join with your club’s Olympics promotions.
Finally, contact me. I am prepared to give you some FREE copies of my latest book Chasing Gold – Inspirational stories about Olympians. You could use these as prizes for trivia contests you run as part of your Olympics promotions.
Of course, all prizes and contributors will be front-and-centre in your marketing activities, providing valuable exposure to the companies amongst your membership.
I think you will be surprised at the number of businesses that would love to be involved with your Club!
