A Wollongong club was the scene of a recent big win in Keno when a man and his two adult sons won over $1.1 million.
The trio were enjoying family time together at Collegians Leagues Club Balgownie when they played the Keno Classic 10 Spot jackpot in draw 350 drawn last Sunday, earning the men $394,209.33 each.
The shocked father told a Keno official that he nearly had a heart attack when he realised the joint ticket he held with two of his children was a winner.
“It was funny. I was watching the screen and counting the numbers. I said to my wife, ‘Wow. We’ve got seven numbers,’ and then it hit me, we actually had all 10!,” he told the official.
“I went ‘Sh**!’ and I think I nearly died on the spot,” he exclaimed.
The win came at just the right time to help keep the man and his wife in the family home and to get a much-needed new car.

Keno is a game where a random set of 20 numbers are selected from one to 80. Players win when their selected numbers match those drawn.
A draw occurs roughly every three minutes, and there are a few variations on the game, such as Keno Mega Millions, and players can also win through a monthly second chance draw.
Keno is played in over 3,500 Victorian, Queensland, ACT and New South Wales clubs and pubs, and is also available via an app for Victorian and ACT residents.
Last year, over $1.19 billion was won, shared amongst 76 million winners, including 23 millionaires and multi-millionaires.
Collegians Leagues began in 1963, fast becoming one of the most popular clubs in the Illawarra region and growing to encompass four venues and a sports centre.
The club is a proud member of its community, supporting local schools, sporting teams and charities as well as its strong senior rugby league team, under 18s, reserve and first grade teams, and juniors.
