Man attacks poker machine in bizarre temper tantrum

A 25 year-old Sunshine Coast man attacked a poker machine at Kawana Bowling Club.

Michael David James Eather of Wurtulla plead guilty to wilful damage, public nuisance, drink driving and driving without due care after two separate incidents, one of which was the biffo with the poker machine.

Eather attacked the machine after being denied service at the bar. Noosa Magistrates CoPolice prosecutor Alison Johnstone said Eather became aggressive and yelled at staff before he smashed the poker machine. He then jumped over the back fence of the venue before being found by police.

Weeks later, the same man was found guilty of drink driving after crashing his car into a parked caravan. He later returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.142 per cent.

Eather has been ordered to pay $2112.06 in restitution, but no convictions were recorded.
