Mounties Group has proudly announced upgraded facilities for the Budgewoi community, after a $3 million investment into redeveloping and opening the new Halekulani Bowling Club.
Overhaul of the Club was intended to bring members and the wider community together, and transform the venue into a central hub for the region.

HBC now includes a state-of-the-art synthetic playing surface, with all-weather facilities and expanded spectator seating, under sports-grade lighting. There is also a modern new players’ lounge overlooking the green.
“This significant investment has elevated the Club and demonstrates Mounties Group’s commitment to creating only the best facilities for our members,” says Mounties CEO Dale Hunt.
Following a Memorandum of Understanding commitment, HBC – locally known as Hali’s – enjoyed its first official day as a Mounties Group venue on 24 March 2021.
The Mounties Board opted to go “over and above” what was agreed in the amalgamation, to the tune of an additional $2.55 million.
The approved project broke ground 22 February 2024 and was completed this month. A grand opening party event was held to mark the occasion on Friday, 23 May.

In attendance was the Hon. David Harris MP, who is Minister for the Central Coast but also holds the portfolio of Minister for Gaming & Racing, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and Treaty, Minister for Veterans, and Minister for Medical Research.
The massively increased budget ensured the Club was kitted with best-in-class facilities and a brand-new bar. The augmented offering caters for private functions, and allows both regular bowlers and guests to enjoy evening and year-round play, meeting the needs of both competitive and recreational bowlers.

While the enhanced playing conditions provide unparalleled bowling performance and consistency, Mounties feel the end product makes for an optimal environment for patrons of all skill levels and interests.
“Halekulani Bowling Club provides another hub for the local community to connect, both regular bowlers and recreational players alike,” adds Hunt.
