After nearly 100,000 meals enjoyed, the ultimate winners of this year’s Your Local Club Perfect Plate Awards by ClubsNSW have been revealed.
Now in its fifth year, the 2025 Perfect Plate Awards saw entries by 200 eateries from across NSW, out of 171 clubs “from Broken Hill to Bundeena, Mudgee to Murwillumbah”.
Since the launch in May, the Awards’ ambassadors – celebrity chefs Matt Moran and Courtney Roulston, with NRL legend Nathan Hindmarsh – visited over 60 participating venues, to meet the chefs and sample their entries.
The big-name chefs each sport a genuine connection with clubs, Moran having started his career at Parramatta RSL and Roulston beginning at Putney Bowling Club.
Club members and guests were invited to order a competition meal and score it out of five.
Votes could be submitted from 2 May to 15 June, with a $100 dining voucher given away each day of the competition, and the two diners who cast the most votes each win a ‘foodie getaway’ for two, valued at $3,500.
Diners were encouraged to try as many entries at as many clubs as possible, but only one vote could be cast for each. By the conclusion of the competition over 98,300 Perfect Plate dishes had been purchased.
“Every year, clubs continue to take it up a level when it comes to the quality of food, and this year was no exception,” offers Moran.
“I was really impressed with the enthusiasm of the chefs I met as part of my Perfect Plate road trip. They were so passionate about what they created and I love how many of them chose to highlight local produce.”
Roulston was similarly “blown away” by the originality, observing everything from a Korean Fried Chicken Croissant to a Chilli Lobster Fettucine, serving up quality food “without breaking the bank”.
“You can walk into your local club these days and find the sorts of dishes that in years gone by could only be found in a top-end eatery – and they are at a price point that people can afford,” she remarked.
Former Parramatta Eels forward and captain, Hindmarsh took on the task of taste-testing up to eight Perfect Plate meals in a day.
“It was a tough job, but someone had to do it!” he mused.
All the public’s votes have now been counted and stakeholders gathered at the Western Sydney Convention Centre, at Panthers Penrith, on Tuesday (15 July) to learn the five state-wide winners and 13 regional winners.
New major award – Perfect Pizza – was taken out by the Pizza Trevigiana by The Fraternity Club, which pulled off a double win, also taking the Medium Club trophy, for the second time, for its Ravioli Di Pesce.

The Large Club category was awarded to Bankstown Sports Club for its Herb Crusted Lamb Rack & Pappardelle, while the Small Club gong went to The Polish Club, for its Bangalow Pork Schnitzel.
Rounding out the majors, Kiama Leagues Club took home Best Dessert for its Panna Colada.
Bringing some history to the occasion, special mention was made of consistently high performers.
The Ary Toukley has taken first place in the Central Coast region for four out of the past five years.
Club York has come first in the Eastern Metropolitan region four out of the five years, and Bathurst RSL was first in the Central West region for three out of four years it entered.
“I’m thrilled that the Epping Club has taken out the top spot in the Northern Metropolitan region because they dished up some of the best Chinese food I’ve eaten not just in Sydney, but in the world,” added Moran.
ClubsNSW CEO Rebecca Riant declared clubs as the “perfect place” to enjoy award-winning cuisine at affordable prices, and that the annual awards are an opportunity to shine the spotlight on the quality and diversity of club dining – and their dedicated chefs.
“From a Red Miso Glazed Snapper to a Beef and Guinness Pot Pie, this year’s winners are as varied as they are innovative, and they show that there really is something for everyone at your local club!” says Riant.
