Every year Sydney’s Revesby Workers Club holds a fundraising event to mark International Women’s Day.
Partnering with Leagues Club Australia and with a host of sponsors, the $130 per head networking event offers a variety of guest speakers over a three-course lunch, along with a raffle and live entertainment.
Funds raised go towards supporting Biyani House – Revesby Women’s Shelter.
International Women’s Day, now in its 30th year, is a day to focus on the advancement of women across the world, as well as a call to action for gender equality.

This year, the theme is ‘Accelerate Action’, emphasising the urgent need to address the systemic issues women face both professionally and personally.
Revesby Workers Club will be holding its event in its newly upgraded Whitlam Theatre on Friday, 7 March this year.
Guest speakers are Frida Deguise, professional chef and stand-up comedian; Grace Rowe, PR expert and junior motorcross racer; and Sallianne Faulkner, ClubsNSW chair, general manager of Bayside Women’s Shelter, Netball NSW president, and Societie Group president.
A recent post on Revesby Workers’ Facebook page stated the importance of the event.
“International Women’s Day is not just a day, but a movement that aims to forge a more inclusive world for women and invest in their progress,” it said.
