Police are on the hunt for a man who brazenly held up a Gold Coast bowls club over the weekend, escaping with cash.

According to a Queensland Police spokesperson, a man entered the Tugun Bowls Club around 7.00pm Sunday night, armed with a knife.

He has been described as Caucasian, around 180cm (5’11”) tall, slim, and wearing black pants, jumper and beanie.

The man allegedly threatened the male worker with the weapon, demanding money from the register.

The employee complied with the demand and the offender escaped along Kaleena Street with an unspecified sum.

Police were summoned and conducted a search of the surrounding area, but they were unable to locate the offender.

Detectives continue investigations and are appealing for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
