The idyllic Noosa Valley Country Club near Noosa Heads, with clubhouse, nine-hole golf course and a swag of potential, has come to market for the first time in over three decades.
Known as Noosa Valley Country Club, the property of No.14 Valley Drive at Doonan is just 15 minutes from Noosa Heads and incorporates four lots.
The existing clubhouse is somewhat rundown, but provides a bar, commercial kitchen and restaurant, lounge area and versatile function space.
Zoned ‘sport and rec’ the club also holds a manicured nine-hole golf course and driving range, maintained by a greenskeeper and described as “stunning” by Australian Golf Digest, as well as a tennis court, squash court, manager’s residence and ample parking.
Membership requirements for the club ceased some time ago, and the course is open to social golfers.
For the past 35 years the club property has been operated by a private owner, who lives onsite. After years of dedication, calling on friends and volunteers to help maintain and run it, he has opted it is “time to pass the property on” and move to a house he owns nearby.
A sale campaign through Century 21 Noosa Heads reports interest from a variety of players, including proprietors of some luxury retreats in the region.
Potential new owners have shown interest in reviving the country club, possibly looking to focus on hosting weddings as the nearest alternative is over 40 kilometres away, in Montville, or adding amenities to create a day spa or ‘commune’ destination, or even an extravagant private residence.
The asset is being sold via private tender, with valuation estimates of $14-16 million, but the opportunity could see an even higher sale price.
“The Club would suit the creation of a day spa. It’s perfect for couples and families,” offered Century 21’s Lisa McKenzie, marketing the property with colleague Adam Watts.
“It’s a truly unique property. There is so much potential there, it makes for an exciting opportunity for the right buyer.”
