A disgruntled unvaxxed LNP Metro North member is demanding compensation for being barred from entering a bowls club where a party AGM was being held.

He is also demanding an apology from party executives, including an MP, because COVID-19 rules meant that he couldn’t attend the meeting.

The current Queensland Government rules allow unvaccinated people to access essential services but they are not allowed into venues like hotels, clubs and venues.

MP Tim Mander

According to The Courier Mail, Greg Jones has demanded $20,000 in compensation, including $10,000 from MP Tim Mander, $5000 from the branch’s vice chair, $2500 from the secretary and another $2500 from branch treasurer and Moreton Bay Councillor Yvonne Barlow.

“Otherwise, I will be lodging papers with the magistrate’s court seeking the full amount of damages available to me and penalties,” he said.

Jones also threatened to complain to the LNP, the Office of the Information Commissioner and the Human Rights Commission.

In spite of these threats, the Office of the Information Commissioner and the Human Rights Commission has said it will not pursue any complaints against venues complying with the law.
