New ClubsNSW director Rob Smith is looking forward to assisting with strategic direction and vision for the organisation, which represents more than 1200 member clubs across the State.

“To have the opportunity to take up this role as a ClubsNSW Director is both an honour and a career highlight,” said the Twin Towns CEO, replacing long-serving Director Keith Gomes, who retired after 12 years on the Board.

“ClubsNSW is the peak representational body for NSW clubs and the fundamental role of its board is to manage the organisation’s operations and activities, to ensure they are geared towards sustainability and optimal outcomes for the industry,” he said.

“The organisation also contributes to state and national policy direction and development of legislation that may impact its member clubs.

“I look forward to working alongside the Chair and my fellow Board Directors and offering a regional perspective to the discussions on issues that affect all clubs.”

ClubsNSW Chairman George Peponis, OAM, MBBS, said Mr Smith brings extensive industry knowledge and significant experience in the operation and evolution of gaming, as well as club property developments and acquisitions.

“Rob has also represented ClubsNSW as the appointee to the Tourism Industry Council and been a member of the ClubsNSW Gaming Advisory Committee since 1992,” said Mr Peponis.
