Nick Brabham, former General Manager of Cabarita Beach Bowls & Sports Club, has been appointed CEO of the new Burpengary Community Club

Part of the new $40 million Burpengary Station Village, across from Burpengary train station, the Community Club will be run by Hervey Bay RSL.

Construction of the new club by the Comiskey Group, at 10 Henderson Rd, Burpengary, 40km north of Brisbane, is almost complete with the venue due to open next month. The $5 million, 2000sqm club will include a bar, restaurants and 150 pokers machine and is expected to employ up to 100 local staff.

Burpengary Station Village will offer a total of 5900sqm of retail space, including a food and beverage precinct, kid-friendly facilities, a 2000sqm IGA supermarket and 1900sqm of specialty retail with the community club on the lower level.

“It has been great to see the development come to life after 15 years of planning and what will be a total construction time of 18 months,” Comiskey Group Director Robert Comiskey said.

Hervey Bay RSL & Services Community Club said Burpengary offered an opportunity to develop it services outside its current area and to establish a community facility where there is currently no club operating.

The club is expected to draw visitors from the Caboolture, Sunshine Coast, Ipswich and Rosewood train lines.

“Our focus on servicing our members and the Hervey Bay and wider community will not change, our purpose is to support the Veteran community along with the wider community,” the Club stated.
