Warrnambool Surf Life Saving Club has opened community consultation on its proposed new $12 million club house.
Club President John McNeil told ABC that the current clubhouse doesn’t meet emergency service or sporting facility standards for accessibility or gender equity.
The new plans, designed by Mathew Morse Architects, see the existing 50-year-old clubhouse demolished, and a new structure located adjacent to the former site.
The Club is hoping to pay for the new clubhouse with a combination of state and federal government grants, as well as local fundraising.
