Police have arrested a 30-year-old man and a 25-year-old man, both from Loganlea, on the Gold Coast, in connection with the murder of country club owner Gregory Harding.
The pair appeared before the Brisbane Magistrate’s Court. Their case was adjourned until September.
It is believed that in the hours prior to the murder, the suspects were involved in a ram raid on a Stockland shopping centre in Hervey Bay.
The suspects were driving a stolen dark blue Isuzu D-MAX that was later found burnt out in Maryborough.
As reported last week in ClubTIC, the victim, 64-year-old Gary Harding, was shot at close range in his home on the Craignish Country Club grounds.
Detective Inspector Gary Pettiford told the ABC, “We haven’t ruled out it being a robbery gone wrong.
“I can reveal we believe more than two people are involved in the murder and we are appealing for members of the Fraser Coast or Logan area to come forward with any information.”
