Global sports network beIN Sports has teamed with innovative streaming platform Screach to deliver live sport, including elite world soccer and tennis, to thousands of venues across Australia.

it’s no secret Australians love their sport, and in light of the $68 million spent in hospitality venues* during the Women’s World Cup it’s clear they will also spend while enjoying the on-field action.

Launched in Australia in 2014, beIN Sports holds exclusive Australian broadcast rights to more than 1,000 elite football matches a year, including the new seasons of English Football League, Italy’s Series A, Carabao Cup, Scottish Premiership, French Ligue 1, and starting this year for the next three seasons it will also broadcast the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2.

beIN also shows top-tier tennis from around the world, with the Australian rights to all ATP and WTA tour events, as well as the Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup.

The company has partnered with Screach – a cloud-based streaming and advertising platform dubbed the ‘Netflix of Sport’ – to meet the needs of commercial venues.

A poll by YouGov found Aussies are ahead of the global curve for using a streaming platform for exclusive sports content, at 29 per cent, against the world average of 21 per cent.

Australia’s commercial venue market has long been a target for Screach, developed by UK tech firm Screenreach. Available in 157 countries, Screach aggregates live sports channels, giving venues HD quality broadcasts via a subscription model.

But beyond streaming, Screach integrates venue marketing and advertising capabilities, enabling them to monetise their TV screens, bolstering patron engagement and boosting sales.

Already in use at venues in eastern states, such as St Kilda’s Cross Hotel, Fairy Meadows’ Cabbage Tree Hotel and Brisbane’s Gilhooleys Irish Bar, it allows live coverage to be interspersed with in-house advertising messages.

Screach was reportedly selected as the solution as it offers a cost-efficient yet effective way to service the important commercial premises offering.

“Incorporating live sports broadcasts in Australia is a hugely important part of our local content offering as it cultivates a dynamic atmosphere that not only attracts fans but also deepens their engagement, fostering a sense of camaraderie and excitement that transcends beyond the screen,” explains beIN Asia-Pacific MD Mike Kerr.

“Our partnership with Screach now gives licensed venues across metro and regional Australia instant and frictionless access to our premium football, tennis and rugby content.”
